TRADITIONAL LEADERS LAUD DCE FOR INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT IN THE DISTRICT.

Traditional leaders at Kodie and its neighborhood in the Afigya Kwabre South District have commended the District Chief Executive [DCE], Hon Christian Adu-Poku, and the District Assembly for the massive infrastructural development projects executed and ongoing within Kodie and the entire district.
The commendation came after an inspection tour of the project sites at the district capital by the DCE accompanied by the Chiefs and other New Patriotic Party [NPP] activists in the district. Hon Adu-Poku had engaged the traditional leaders at the Kodie Chief’s Palace to outline several key achievements chalked up by the District Assembly since his appointment as the District Chief Executive seven and a half years ago.
He said the government has invested heavily in road construction, water supply systems, and electricity distribution networks, pointing out that the infrastructural projects, besides improving connectivity, stimulate economic growth and enhance the overall quality of life of the citizens. He issued a two-week ultimatum to market traders to occupy their stalls in the new market, and in default, they would be reallocated to potential traders.
Hon. Adu-Poku urged the public to desist from all acts of violence before, during, and after the December election to protect the peace enjoyed under the dispensation of democracy in the country. He again called on Ghanaians to remain steadfast in their communication with others.
In his response, the Chief of Kodie, Nana Yaw Barimah Peprah II expressed concerns over the location of the gas filling station within the residential area of Kodie and the DCE, accompanied by the Chiefs and other New Patriotic Party [NPP] activists in the district, inspected the project sites at the district capitals containers spread alongside the major road of the district capital which should be removed to pave way for the beautification of Kodie. The Chief appealed to the government to elevate Afigya Kwabre South District to Municipal status with its large population for accelerated development.
For his part, Nana Asamoah Boadu, Chief of Kotokuom disclosed the visit to the project sites has confirmed the successful work of the DCE, the Assembly, and the government. Nana called on the government to prioritize it by establishing a Senior High School [SHS] at Kodie to befit its status as the district capital. reallocated
Project sites visited included the Skills Training Center, the construction of classroom blocks, the renovation of classroom blocks, and the Ultra-modern Astro Turf, among others. In addition, the DCE listed several projects constructed which included the District Assembly Office Complex, the District Magistrate Court Complex and bungalow, District Health and Police Commander’s bungalows, Modern Market and Stalls, Kodie Sports Complex and Community Centre along with others.
