AKSDA COMMISSIONS MODERN 18-SEATER B.O.T TOILET

The District Chief Executive for the Afigya Kwabre South District, Hon. Christian Adu-Poku has commissioned an 18-Seater Water Closet[WC] Toilet facility with shower for the Krobo community in the district at a ceremony held on Tuesday, 2nd July, 2024.
The amenity financed by Emmanuel Agyemang Badu of Principle Millennium Enterprise was constructed as Build, Operate and Transfer [B. O. T] estimated over millions of cedis.

In his address, Hon Adu-Poku referred to the abandoned toilet project earlier initiated by the government which had become a white elephant project. He said the community had longed for a place of convenience and for that reason, the government started to construct one as it was appropriate for a community like Krobo to have toilet facility.

According to him, other areas that were also earmarked for such amenities included Afrancho, Hemang and three more communities in the district. However, prolong legal tussle ensued, prompting the project to be halted, which became a source of concern to the Assembly and the Krobo inhabitants.
The DCE stated that, with no end in sight regarding the court issue and with incessant pressure exerted on the Assembly by the Assembly member, Hon. Philip Antwi, the Assembly decided to find other alternatives to rectify the appalling situation. He said it compelled him to consult and seek the assistance of some stakeholders to construct an ultramodern toilet facility as the one been commissioned.
Hon. Adu-Poku urged the community leaders to ensure the culture of maintaining the facility so as to prolong the life span for the benefit of the entire community.
