Education, Youth & Sports

The Education, Youth and Sport Unit primarily assists in the formulation and implementation of policies on education in the Assembly within the framework of national policies and guidelines.

It also has an advisory role in the Assembly on matters relating to pre-school, primary, Junior High Schools in the District and other matters that may be referred to it by the Assembly.

The District also encourages and reports on implementation of policies and matters relating to basic education in accordance with report format provided by the minister.

Activities

January, 2021 – Distribution of Personal Protection Equipment (PPEs) for both Private and Public School Headteachers at the District Education Office
On Tuesday; 19th January, 2021, the District Director in the company of the DCE – Hon. Christian Adu-Poku and his entourage visited four selected schools; namely: Afrancho Primary A, Afrancho Primary B, Kodie D/A Primary A and Kodie D/A Primary B to welcome all new entrants to KG 1 and Primary 1 respectively as part of ‘My First Day at School’ observation.
The Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service and the Afigya Kwabre South Education Directorate organised a back to school outreach programme for all necessary stakeholders of Education in the District. This is part of efforts to sensitise parents and pupils to return to school after the long COVID-19 break.
