The Afigya Kwabre South District Assembly held a Town Hall Meeting on 16th April 2026 at the Akrowa Pentecost Church Revival Centre to educate residents on local governance and update them on government development projects and programmes.
The meeting brought together Hon. Patricia Pearl Ankrah (District Chief Executive), Nananom, Assembly Members, Unit Committee Members, Assembly staff, religious leaders, stakeholders, development partners, and community members.
In her address, the DCE encouraged Assembly Members to promote inclusivity, strengthen collaboration with Nananom and residents, and hold regular community engagements. She also appealed to traditional leaders to continue supporting the Assembly to enhance local governance and development.
During the interactive session, Nananom expressed concerns about accountability, communication, and limited knowledge of the Assembly’s departmental functions. Assembly Members acknowledged these concerns and pledged to improve transparency and engagement with their communities.
The District Development Planning Officer, Mr. Ebenezer Quarm, presented the 2026–2029 Medium-Term Development Plan, explaining that it was developed based on priorities identified during consultations with the Area Councils and would guide the District’s development agenda.
The meeting also featured a leadership and communication training by Development and Sustainable Initiatives (DSI Denmark) for Assembly Members and Nananom to strengthen collaboration and improve community leadership.
