PUBLIC EDUCATION AND SENSITISATION ON DISASTER RISK REDUCTION

As part of its mandate to promote disaster risk reduction, the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) undertook public education and sensitization programmes on disaster prevention, mitigation, and other disaster-related issues in selected churches and communities. The exercise aimed to enhance public awareness, build community resilience, and equip residents with basic knowledge of disaster risk reduction measures, while also educating them on the mandate and functions of NADMO.

The sensitization exercise was conducted from 20th to 23rd January 2026 in the communities of Maase, Essen, Akosuah, and Taabuo. Community members actively participated in the sessions and were educated on disaster prevention strategies, preparedness measures, and appropriate response actions during emergencies.
