Yamoah Ponkoh Area Council was inaugurated on 26th March 2024 at Ankaase Methodist Church. The electoral area consists of Ankaase East, Ankaase West, Ejuratia and Kwabre Hemang.
The Heads of Departments from the Assembly also used the occasion to highlight their roles and responsibilities in the Assembly. At the Occasion Hon. Harrison Frimpong, Ankaase East Assemblyman was elected as the chairman of Yamoah Ponkoh Area Council.
The District Coordinating Director (DCD) also led the 25 Unit Committee Members and 5 Assembly Members to take the official oath of office and the oath of secrecy as well. After the oaths, the DCD congratulated the Unit Committee Members and charged them to go and execute their mandate. He further admonished them to work as a team with the Assembly Members for the common good of their electoral areas.
Hon.Adu-Poku Christian (DCE) made a presentation on a project he undertook in Afigya Kwabre South from 2017 to 2024.
These include the 6-unit Classroom block at Bronkong (GETFUND) Construction of the Mowire Bridge (QUARRY DEVELOPMENT FUND. Construction of Hemang Bridge (QUARRY DEVELOPMENT FUND) Construction of Police Station at Taabuo (District Assembly Common Fund, DACF) Construction of Community Centre at Swedru DACF, Construction of Staff Bangalow at Kodie, DACF, Construction of Health Centre at Adubinso.DACF, Construction of Maternity Block at Afrancho, Construction of a 3unit classroom block at Mowire, Construction of WAEC Depot for GES at Kodie DACF, construction of JHS Block at Ankaase, DACF, Construction of Teachers Quarters at Hema DACF. Expansion of Atimatim Health Centre, Construction of Borehole for Ankaase Community, Ongoing rural electrification at Mpobi, Renovation of Kodie Complex Park, Free Motorbikes given to Police Officers at Kodie.
Hon.APC also used the occasion to advise Nananom about the activities of the Quarry Companies. He said instead of taking huge amounts of money from the Quarry Companies, it would be better for Nananom to charge Quarry Companies 25 per cent which can be used for corporate social responsibilities in areas where Quarries are located.
Hon APC also donated 50 Street Bulbs to Unit Committee Members and Assembly Members in Yamoah Ponkoh Area Council.
