Afigya Kwabre South District Assembly inaugurated the Adumakaasekese Area Council on 27th March 2024 at Swedru Community Centre.
The composition of the area Council is made up of Swedru, Adumakaasekese, Wawase and Ebombomfa. The area Council has 18 Unit Committee Members and 4 Assembly Members. At the occasion, Hon. Solomon Sarfo was elected as Chairman of the Area Council.
Mrs. Yvonne Naboo, District Coordinating Director (DCD) also conducted the swearing-in for the elected executives
The Head of the Physical Planning Department, Mad. Elizabeth Sarpong briefed the participants about the duties and responsibilities of the Physical Planning Department. Their Job includes improving public awareness of building procedures and restoring the land use Planning system in the District. The department also advises on the preparation of structures for towns and villages within the District.
The District Social Welfare Director Mr. Cheslyn also outlines the duties of a Social Welfare Department. These include facilitating the implementation of Livelihood Empowerment (LEAP) activities and supporting families and individuals in the handling of domestic violence cases and spouse abuse. Other Heads of the Department also took turns and gave their job description to the Participants.
Hon. Adu-Poku Christian (DCE) made a presentation on projects he undertook from 2017 to 2024 in the District. These include Completed projects and ongoing projects in the District. Others also Include the support that he has undertaken that the District is gaining from the Quarry Development Fund. Hon APC also used the occasion to donate 40 Street Bulbs to Unit Committee Members and Assembly Members in Adumakaasekese Area Council, while an amount of Thousand Ghana Cedis was given to selected people with disabilities in the District.
