The event was attended by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene; the District Chief Executive for Afigya Kwabre South District Assembly, Hon. Patricia Pearl Ankrah; Heads of Departments, Assembly staff, Assembly Members, and members of the general public.
In his remarks, Dr. Frank Amoakohene expressed satisfaction with the overall success of this year’s AshantiFest. He commended stakeholders across the region for their immense support and noted that the enthusiasm and participation witnessed would serve as motivation for an even more impactful festival in the future.

He further highlighted key development initiatives within the region, including ongoing improvements at the Kumasi Central Prisons. He also spoke about the transformation of the Asokwa Interchange into a vibrant open-air museum, with the introduction of facilities such as seating areas, an open-field library, and public Wi-Fi to enhance community engagement.
Emphasizing government’s commitment to inclusive development, the Regional Minister disclosed that 50 street youth have been supported with scholarships to return to school, while another 50 are undergoing vocational training. In addition, 20 trained youth have been provided with start-up capital to establish their own businesses.
Dr. Amoakohene also noted that the Ashanti Expo served as a major economic driver of the festival, bringing together over 300 businesses to showcase their products, foster partnerships, and promote trade.
AshantiFest 2026 featured a diverse range of activities, including the reenactment of the Sagrenti War, Cultural and Kente Week, the Ashanti Dramalogue, musical concerts, and street art festivals, among others—each highlighting the rich cultural heritage and creative potential of the Ashanti Region.
