The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Afigya Kwabre South, Madam Patricia Pearl Ankrah, has outlined her achievements and ongoing projects seven months after taking office, emphasizing her administration’s commitment to inclusive development.
Madam Ankrah, the first female DCE of the district, was overwhelmingly endorsed by the Assembly on May 15, 2025 following her nomination by the President. Speaking to the media, she noted that her leadership has focused on key sectors including health, education, agriculture, security, roads, water, and sanitation.

She explained that her initial weeks were dedicated to engaging traditional authorities, opinion leaders, and residents to better understand the district’s needs and align development efforts accordingly.
Among the notable interventions, several roads have been reshaped under the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP), improving transportation for farmers, traders, and commuters. The Assembly has also cut the sod for multiple projects, including a two-unit kindergarten block at Kyerase, a health centre at Ntiribuoho, a 20-seater toilet facility at Hemang, a CHPS compound and three-unit classroom block at Dumakyi, and a six-unit classroom block at Wawaase Akwaasu.
Despite these gains, the DCE identified challenges such as poor road networks, lack of electricity in some communities, boundary disputes, the impact of quarry blasting on residents, and persistent tax evasion affecting revenue mobilisation. She announced plans to intensify public education on tax compliance and urged residents to actively support community development initiatives.
Looking ahead, Madam Ankrah revealed plans to establish a Scholarship Secretariat in 2026 to support brilliant but needy students and to expand health screening exercises across communities.
She expressed gratitude to Assembly Members, the Member of Parliament, traditional leaders, the Ashanti Regional Minister, and Assembly staff for their continued support, reaffirming her commitment to transparent leadership and accelerated development in Afigya Kwabre South.
