BECE CANDIDATES IN AFIGYA KWABRE SOUTH MOTIVATED BY DCE AND DISTRICT EDUCATION DIRECTOR

The District Chief Executive, Hon. Patricia Pearl Ankrah, together with the District Education Director, Mr. David Akomea Asokwa, paid a morale-boosting visit to four examination centres on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, the first day of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The centres visited included Aduman SHS, Aduman D/A, Kodie Methodist Primary, and Aduamoa JHS. This year, a total of 4,972 candidates are writing the exams at 18 centres across the district.

Hon. Ankrah encouraged the candidates to remain confident and composed, describing the examination as a stepping stone to their future academic and professional success. She reiterated the Assembly’s full support and urged the students to shun examination malpractices, warning of dire consequences such as paper cancellations, police involvement, and juvenile prosecution.

Mr. Asokwa commended the DCE’s supportive gesture and reminded the candidates of their preparedness through mock exams. He cautioned against the use of “apor” (leaked exam papers), emphasizing its potential to ruin their future. He also called on parents to provide a conducive environment for their children during the examination period.

Mr. Asokwa noted with satisfaction that no cases of pregnancy had been reported in the four centres visited and expressed hope that this would be the case across the district.
