The District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Patricia Pearl Ankrah, on Friday, May 23, 2025, officially handed over 800 dual desks to the District Director of Education during a brief ceremony held at the forecourt of the District Assembly.
Delivering her maiden address, Hon. Ankrah expressed heartfelt gratitude to God Almighty and to all who have supported her journey to her current position. She sought divine wisdom and appealed for continued support from Assembly Members and the general public to enable her to discharge her duties diligently and effectively.

Hon. Ankrah emphasized that education would be one of the key priorities of her administration. She described the provision of furniture as a critical intervention to enhance teaching and learning in the district, adding that the desks are a fundamental tool to improve the educational experience for pupils.
She assured stakeholders that the procurement of furniture would be done in phases, with subsequent batches distributed to schools that did not benefit from the initial supply. She urged school authorities to cultivate a strong maintenance culture to ensure the longevity of the furniture.
The DCE also encouraged citizens and stakeholders to actively share their ideas and feedback with her, as part of a collective effort to accelerate development across the district.
Receiving the desks, the District Director of Education, Mr. David Akomea Asokwa, commended the government and particularly the DCE for prioritizing education at the fundamental stage of a pupil’s academic journey. He acknowledged that since taking office in 2022, schools in the district have consistently benefited from similar support and appealed for continued investment in the sector to achieve long-term educational goals.

Mr. Asokwa assured the DCE of his full cooperation and pledged to work closely with her to ensure smooth and effective administration within the education sector.
