Afigya Kwabre South District Assembly has inaugurated Twenty-seven (27) Assembly Members and Eleven (11) Goverment Appointees on 12th February 2024 to foster development in the District.
The inauguration took place at the forecourt of the District Assembly in accordance with the 1992
Constitution and the Local Government Act, 2016 (Act 936). The Twenty-seven (27) Assembly members and Eleven (11) Government appointees were led to swear the oath of secrecy and allegiance by His Worship Kweku Ansah Akrofi.

Addressing the Assembly Members, Hon. Adu Poku Christian emphasized the enormous responsibilities ahead of them pointing out its sacrificial nature assuring them of the Assembly’s support. The DCE also commended the Minister for his support in supplying pigs, coconut seedlings, and broilers.

He also noted that the District has also benefited from Agenda 111 with seventy (70%) of the project finished and hopes to complete it by August this year. The Agricultural Minister, who also serves as the Abetifi MP, commended the Assembly members on a job well done in the previous December election during his inaugural speech. He stated that in order to guarantee that the District is transformed into the Ghana that we all desire, members are mandated to deliberate, plan, mobilize resources, and make choices, including passing legislation.

The election for the Presiding Member was stalled since none of the three candidates received the required number of votes, forcing the election to be held within the following ten (10) days.
