On February 17, 2026, the DCE for Afigya Kwabre South, Hon. Patricia Pearl Ankrah, directed school feeding caterers to stop serving teachers with meals meant for pupils, stressing that the programme is intended to boost enrolment, attendance, and retention.
At a stakeholder meeting with caterers from 46 schools, concerns were raised about interference from some school authorities and poor kitchen facilities, forcing some caterers to cook from home.
Hon. Ankrah urged professionalism, hygiene, and proper nutrition, while the District Education Director cautioned teachers against interfering in catering activities. The School Feeding Supervisor also advised caterers to improve cleanliness and upgrade kitchen facilities.
