DCE EMBARKS ON WORKING VISIT TO EJURITIA, MPOBI, AND MPOSU

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Afigya Kwabre South, Hon. Pearl Patricia Ankrah, has undertaken a one-day working visit to the farming communities of Ejuritia, Mpobi, and Mposu within the Yamoah Ponko Area Council. The visit, part of her broader community engagement initiative, aimed to assess developmental challenges, interact with residents, and promote ongoing government programmes.

EJURITIA: Calls for Infrastructure Support

At Ejuritia, Hon. Ankrah paid a courtesy call on the traditional leadership at the palace, where residents appealed for government support to complete their community centre and revamp the Ejuritia Day Senior High School—particularly the administration block and washrooms.

Responding to their concerns, the DCE reaffirmed her commitment to the community’s development. She pledged to provide quarry stones and roofing sheets to support the completion of the community centre. Additionally, she announced that the Assembly would deploy a DRIP machine to help clear land for construction activities. She also toured the local refuse dump to assess sanitation challenges and explore possible interventions.

MPOBI: Support for Farmers

In Mpobi, Hon. Ankrah expressed gratitude to the chiefs and residents for their ongoing cooperation with the District Assembly. Responding to requests from local farmers, she distributed 40 bags of fertilizers and four boxes of weedicides, encouraging them to embrace modern farming techniques to boost productivity.

MPOSU: Unannounced Visit Highlights Urgent Needs

At Mposu, which was an unplanned stop, the DCE again engaged with the chief and community members. Residents appealed for the reshaping of their roads and the construction of a six-unit classroom block to enhance educational infrastructure.

In her remarks, Hon. Ankrah assured the community of the Assembly’s commitment to addressing their concerns within the constraints of available resources. She stressed the government’s dedication to ensuring equitable development across all communities in the district.

The DCE was accompanied by the District Director of Agriculture, Mr. Patrick Anim, who used the occasion to encourage farmers to form cooperative groups. He explained that such groups would improve access to agricultural inputs, technical assistance, and government support programmes, particularly the Feed Ghana Programme.

“Organizing into cooperatives will empower farmers to take full advantage of government interventions designed to increase agricultural productivity and ensure food security,” Mr. Anim stated. He assured the communities that agricultural officers would soon visit to assist in forming and registering these cooperatives.

Bringing her tour to a close, Hon. Pearl Patricia Ankrah urged the chiefs and people of Ejuritia, Mpobi, and Mposu to remain united and actively support government development initiatives. She emphasized that sustainable progress in Afigya Kwabre South could only be achieved through strong collaboration between the District Assembly, traditional authorities, and the people.
