The Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana in Afigya Kwabre South District Assembly have undergone one day Orientation exercise at Kodie Methodist Church . Addressing the workers the Human Resource Director at Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council, Mrs Vivian Akumia took the participants through the mandate, structure and core values of the service. She also took time to expatiate the functions of the Local Government Service as well.
Other relevant areas that she also highlighted were Recruitment, Appointment Procedures, Departmental Transfer, Working Hours of Staff, Condition of Service for Staff ,Discipline involving Major and Minor Offences.
In her conclusion, Mrs Akumia stressed the need for periodical workshop for the participants to be abreast with the times in order to enhance their knowledge and improve on their performance.
Hon. Adu-Poku Christian (DCE) hoped the Staff would take a cue from the exercise. He believed the year 2023 would witness new structural development and warned against indolence and other impending vices among the Staff of which he had been tolerant for the past years.
Hon. APC also disclosed that, he was making frantic effort for the elevation of the District to a Municipal Status.
