AKSDA CELEBRATES GHANA’S 69TH INDEPENDENCE DAY

The Afigya Kwabre South District Assembly marked Ghana’s 69th Independence Day with a colourful ceremony at the District Education Office in Kodie, bringing together Assembly staff, education officials, students, and residents.

A key highlight of the event was a quiz competition among selected junior high schools to promote academic excellence. God Is Able JHS emerged as winners with 50.5 points, followed by Hemang Methodist Model JHS in second place with 46 points, and Good Foundation School JHS in third place with 42 points. All participants received prizes.

Speaking at the event, the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Baba Kamara, stated that the celebration aimed to promote academic excellence and student participation in national events under the theme “Building Prosperity, Restoring Hope.” He emphasized the importance of education in national development.

The District Education Director, Mr. David Akomea Asokwa, encouraged students to take their education seriously and highlighted the need for Ghana to achieve economic and political independence.

The District Chief Executive, Hon. Patricia Pearl Ankrah, urged students to embrace innovation and called for unity in advancing education, agriculture, and economic growth. She also commended teachers and security agencies for their dedication.

The event concluded with a joyful atmosphere as participants interacted and took photographs to mark the occasion.
