HON. GYASI DANSO RE-ELECTED PRESIDING MEMBER

Hon. Gyasi Danso was re-elected as Presiding Member of the Afigya Kwabre South District Assembly on February 25, 2026, after securing an overwhelming 34 out of 41 votes cast, reaffirming the strong confidence Assembly Members have in his leadership. His closest contender, the Assembly Member for Atimatim New Site Electoral Area, polled 2 votes.

The election, held at the Kodie Methodist Church, was declared free and fair by the District Chief Executive, Hon. Pearl Ankrah, who commended members for their orderly conduct and commitment to democratic principles. Observers described the process as peaceful and transparent, reflecting unity and institutional stability within the Assembly.

In his acceptance speech, Hon. Danso expressed profound gratitude to his colleagues, noting that the endorsement places a responsibility on him to deliver responsive and people-centered leadership. He emphasized that the victory represents the collective progress of the district rather than personal achievement.

He pledged to promote unity among Assembly Members and foster inclusive governance through collaboration with traditional authorities, opinion leaders, and residents. He also assured members of an open-door administration anchored on transparency, accountability, and mutual respect, with a focus on dialogue and consensus-building.

Hon. Danso’s re-election comes at a crucial time as the district intensifies efforts to improve infrastructure, particularly road construction and rehabilitation. His renewed mandate is expected to ensure continuity in legislative oversight and accelerate development initiatives across the district.
