TIME WITH MAMA EFE AS PART OF MPETEBIE-FUA FESTIVAL

The DCE, Hon Adu Poku Christian (APC) brought forth old traditional food to light through the Afigya Kwabre South District Festival.

On 28th October, 2022, a cooking contest was organized as part of the “Mpetebie-fua” festival. The event took place at the Pentecost Church premises, Buoho. Mama Efe Amanor of Nhyira FM was the the Guest for the programme. She talked on topics of teenage pregnancy, measures to avoid divorce and other social issues with respect to marriage and family building. The Queen Mothers shared opinions about the said topic. Advice were welcomed, criticism about marital act that causes divorce were accepted. In the nutshell, people gained insight and understanding on how to shape a matrimonial home and raise children not to be deviant.

      

A cooking contest also took place between the Queen Mothers of Kwabre South, National Association of Beautician (Atimatim Branch), United Hair dressers (Buoho Branch), Afrancho Acheamfour Market traders and Buoho Market. Some of the traditional foods cooked were Appreprensa, Abunubunu, Diehuo, Emutuo and Nkate Kwan and Abeetei and Nkate Kwan.

These well garnished dishes made people crave for traditional dishes that have been invisible for the passage of time. The Queen Mothers encouraged our Mothers to train their children to love such food and learn how they are prepared. They further made it known especially to the youth of today that, our traditional dishes are the healthiest food we could think of not what we claim as modern. ln attendance were Hon. APC (DCE) District Coordinating Director Mr. Andrews Mensah, Staff of the Assembly and the General Public.
