The Ashanti Regional Information Director has paid a monitoring and familiarization visit to the Afigya Kwabre South District Assembly as part of his official duty tour following his recent appointment.<\/p>\n

The visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration between the Regional Information Services Department (ISD) and the District Assembly while providing the Regional Director with first-hand knowledge of the operations, performance, and capacity of the district office. It also offered an opportunity to assess the effectiveness of communication strategies used to disseminate government policies, programmes, and development initiatives to the public.<\/p>\n

A major highlight of the visit was the presentation of a new Mobile Information Van to the Assembly. The vehicle is expected to strengthen government communication efforts by extending information and public education campaigns to hard-to-reach communities across the district.<\/p>\n

Addressing management and staff of the Assembly, the Regional Information Director announced that the Ashanti Region has received four new Mobile Cinema Vans under the Government’s communication strategy. He explained that Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies wishing to use the vans for programmes such as Town Hall Meetings, Assembly Meetings, and community engagement activities should submit formal requests to the Regional Office of the Information Services Department.<\/p>\n

He emphasized that the initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to deepen citizen engagement, improve public access to government information, and promote inclusive participation in national development.<\/p>\n

The District Chief Executive expressed appreciation to the Information Services Department for its continued support to the Assembly. She thanked the Regional Information Director and his team for providing the new Mobile Information Van, describing it as a timely intervention that would significantly enhance information dissemination and public education within the district.<\/p>\n

The District Chief Executive was later joined by the Member of Parliament for the constituency, the District Coordinating Director, and staff of the Assembly to inspect the newly acquired vehicle. The Member of Parliament described the arrival of the van as a significant milestone in efforts to strengthen communication between the Assembly and the people, noting that it would improve citizen engagement and support participatory local governance.<\/p>\n

The Mobile Information Van is fitted with modern communication equipment, including a public address system, projection screen, projector, and internet connectivity. These features will support community outreach programmes, live broadcasts, public education campaigns, and interactive engagements between government officials and residents.<\/p>\n

The Regional Information Director was accompanied by a journalist from the Ashanti Regional Office of the Information Services Department, who documented the visit and its key activities.<\/p>\n

The visit reaffirmed the Information Services Department’s commitment to strengthening government communication and enhancing collaboration with MMDAs to ensure effective public engagement across the region.<\/p>\n
