The District\u00a0 Chief\u00a0 Executive of the Afigya Kwabre South, Hon. Christian Adu Poku (APC) together with the member of Parliament, Hon William Owuraku Aidoo, assisted by Nkwantakese Hene, Nana Boakye Yam II on 30th March, 2022 commissioned a GETFUND 6 units classroom block at Bronkong-Abuakwa.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Addressing the gathering at a short durbar, the DCE noted with satisfaction the well designed classroom blocks and declared it to be christened, NANA BOAKYE YAM II BASIC SCHOOL in honour of the Nkwantakese Hene for his immense contribution to the enhancement of education in the area, particularly for making land available for the construction of the school.<\/div>\n
He also disclosed in no distant future a sod cutting ceremony for the construction of a Junior High School to serve the D\/A pupil.<\/div>\n
He called on the inhabitants to observe the culture of maintenance and hoped the intake of pupil would also increase.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The MP, Hon William Owuraku Aidoo in his short address, stressed on the importance of education and urged parents not to shirk their responsibilities towards their children. He acknowledged the valuable role played by Nana Boakye Yam II and recommended due honour be accorded him. The Hon. MP promised the school authorities to supply them with electricity for security purposes and also assured the inhabitants of asphalting some inner roads in the area.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The District Director of Education, Mr. David Akomea Asokwa highly commended the Nkwantkese Hene for availability of land for the school without which children in the area would have been denied access to education. He called on both teachers and parents to ensure the building and its facilities are well maintained. He also stated his outfit will carry out proper supervision for the smooth running of the school.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Guest of Honour Nana Boakye Yam II thanked the MP, DCE and Education Director for the honour done, expressing delight over the realization of his dream. He also tasked the teachers for proper upbringing of the children and donated a cash of Ten thousand Ghana cedis (GH 10,000) to support the school. The DCE also used the opportunity to present a number of school bags to the children in addition to fifty metal dual desks provided by the Quarry Development Fund.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
