METHODIST CHURCH INAUGURATES ORAL HEALTH SCHOOL COMPLEX AT ANKAASE

The Methodist church as part of their mandate to provide health care services has inaugurated an Oral Health School Complex at Ankaase on 24th September, 2021.

The Health Minister, Mr. Kweku Agyemang Manu addressed the gathering on behalf of the Vice President His Excellency Dr. Mahmoud Bawumia. In his address, Dr Bawumiah commended the Methodist Church for its pioneering role in the quality of health delivery in the country.

He said the Methodist Church and other members of the Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG) has over the years strengthened its commitment towards complementing the efforts of government at providing quality health care services to the people.

The project which was spearheaded by the Methodist Church with support from some donor clubs such as Rotary International etc. The facility is estimated to cost Three Million Ghana Cedis (GHC 3,000,000).

The Vice President said dental health was critical in the total health care delivery in the country. Government is also committed to provide resources to promote the general healthcare of the people.

Again, he spoke on infrastructure expansion being carried out across the country popularly known as Agenda 111 initiative, Drone usage to supply drugs and blood in communities or areas without good access roads, strengthening the NHIA, Ambulance delivery etc.

He was pleased with the support and participation from Faith-based Organizations such as CHAG to achieve the desired results.

Dr Peter Yeboah, Executive Director of CHAG was very elated to have played a role in complementing the government’s effort at providing quality healthcare and training of health professionals for the country.

He said oral health care delivery is very necessary in general health care delivery for the people. Limited infrastructure and poor awareness creation have made it difficult for majority to seek medical review.

Furthermore, Most Reverend Dr Paul Kwabena Boafo, Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church said that the facility was a consideration of partnership between the Church and Government. Methodist Church believes in the holistic ministry and ready to support the government in improving the socio-economic life in health, education etc.

The chief of Ankaase was also pleased with such an intervention being situated in his jurisdiction. He also urged the security services to provide maximum protection for his people and the workers as well to curb the rampant attacks on health workers especially. He advised the facility administrators to exhibit good maintenance culture and also called on the government to fast track the completion of roads to the town and within.

The inauguration was graced by some dignitaries including, Hon Adu-poku Christian (DCE), Hon Kakari Acheamfour (DCE) Afigya Kwabre North, clergy men, traditional leaders and party faithfuls.
