KWABRE MPETEBIE-FUA FESTIVAL TAKES OFF IN GRAND STYLE

The District Chief Executive for the Afigya Kwabre South District Assembly Hon. Christian Adu Poku, A.K.A Adwumawura on Friday 21st October, 2022 led Heads of Department & staff as well as community members to lit a gargantuan bonfire as a mark of peace and unity to usher in a week long celebration of the much touted “Kwabre Mpetebie fua ” festival at the Kodie Methodist School Park, late in the evening.
The Assembly had earlier in the afternoon embarked on a float parade from its forecourt through some communities to raise public awareness of the event. Representatives of Christian, Muslim and Traditional bodies offered opening prayers as prelude to a successful commemoration which  attracted a large gathering.
In his address, the DCE acknowledged the response of the participants for exhibiting universal adulation for the anniversary. He believed the festival had come to stay with high expectation of fostering a united front, peace and prosperity among the inhabitants of the District.
He pointed out the event might turn into a smashing success only through the collective efforts of the entire communities and urged them to join hands with him to achieve the set-goal.
Kwabre Mpetebie-fua festival was inaugurated over a month ago by the District Assembly under the theme ” Mobilizing Local Resources For Socio-Economic Development ” in close collaboration with Traditional Leaders in the District aimed at restructuring and formalizing the means of bringing together all kwabre West citizens in the country and the diaspora to facilitate the development of the area.
